A hydraulic drive from Hägglunds offers great flexibility for a ball mill. The motor can be installed at the end of the mill or mounted directly on the pinion shaft, with no need for gearboxes, foundations or couplings. Its compact, low-weight design saves considerable space compared to an electro-mechanical drive system.
In addition, a Hägglunds drive offers infinitely variable speed and can operate at low or zero speed for an unlimited period of time. For a ball mill, this means trouble-free inching, which is useful when re-lining the mill.
